Cleo Wesley is a black, queer, non-binary creative, his work addresses the intersections of race, gender, sexuality and the psychosocial issues that South Africa’s youth currently face.

A 2015 alumni of the University of Cape Town’s BA (Hons) in Theatre and Performance programme. Cleo had his professional theatre debut in 2016, performing in The Fugard Theatre’s hit musical “District Six – Kanala”, directed by David Kramer.

That same year he co-wrote & performed in “THE FALL” which had its world premiere at the Baxter Theatre Centre. The production won a Fleur Du Cap Encore Award before embarking on an international tour to Edinburgh, London, New York City, Bordeaux, Galway, Melbourne and Washington, DC. On its tour, “THE FALL” received several awards, nominations and critical acclaim.

Cleo Wesley is currently developing the pilot episodes for two TV series and a web-series. He has also directed and conceptualised two dance short films scheduled for release October/November 2021.

Currently working on a tv-series about an investigative journalist that's pulled into an underworld after she discovers NEMISIS, a vigilante group that targets sexual predators. As well as an anthology web-series about capetonian millennials of colour and the psychosocial issues they face whilst building their careers and relationships.
